Scarlet Legacy is a MMO role-playing game. It has very beautiful Japanese-style artwork that goes very well with the overall martial arts theme of the game. It doesn't have a complex storyline, but it does compensate for this with fun combat and beautiful movement animations.
My first impressions of the game weren't very good since I had to wait over 30 minutes for it to install and complete the updates. The whole update system is not well optimized because each time it downloads a small package it restarts the game launcher, and then installs it, over and over again. Although once I entered the game things started to look very good.
The game itself feels very nice, with strong Asian artwork and martial arts theme. Combine that with the music that you would normally hear in a spa, and you are sucked into the game's world.
The character creation process doesn't offer much variety. You can switch between some face presets, hair color and skin color. The game also doesn't have a lot of character classes.
The gameplay mechanics are the strong point of this game since it is martial arts themed, and you'd expect nice animations. The combinations you can do with both magic and weapons is outstanding, you can also hit while moving, jumping and you can evade certain attacks. The game can be played with both mouse and keyboard, or just point and click with the mouse. However I don't recommend playing only with the mouse since most combat situations involve a lot of movement, which can be done easier with the keyboard. The game also offers large-scale battles, meaning certain guilds can battle each other.
Scarlet Legacy is a fine game, but it does have some issues. The graphics could have been better, the quests are boring and after a while you get tired of grinding, and the game doesn't have a high-count player base.
